Statement on Fatal Collision in Brimwood Neighbourhood
This morning, a tragic incident occurred near Bridley Drive and Brimwood Boulevard, in the heart of the Brimwood neighbourhood. A 15-year-old high school student was struck and killed by a vehicle. Toronto Police and paramedics responded quickly, but sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, and an investigation is currently underway.
I extend my deepest condolences to her family, loved ones, and classmates. This is a heartbreaking loss and a painful reminder that we must prioritize road safety in our community, especially in residential neighbourhoods like Brimwood. I will be speaking shortly with the Toronto Police Service and City staff to assess what immediate steps can be taken to prevent similar tragedies.
