Scarborough Community Legal Services
About
SCLS was founded in 1981 as a community legal clinic to provide "poverty law" services. Poverty law includes work in areas of law that are particularly important for low-income people.
We have on staff:

Community Support Workers
Intake Workers
Administrative Support Staff
SCLS is run by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by members of the community. SCLS’s funding comes from Legal Aid Ontario, an agency that handles the funding for all legal aid services in the province. The community legal clinics are independent corporations that decide their own priorities for service, and are able to advocate for people who are fighting government decisions such as a denial of disability benefits.
